On The Road Travel is currently looking for professional, highly motivated individuals who love to travel and plan vacations and possess excellent customer service skills. This position offers the flexibility to work from home for those who are willing to dedicate the time to growing their own travel business. We are seeking applicants to specialize in selling Disney Destinations and Universal Parks and Resorts.
Please note that we are not interested in growing our team by bringing on hobbyists whose goal it is to make more money to travel or to receive discounts on travel. While both be outcomes of a successful business, we are looking to add advisors to our team who are motivated and committed to growing a business in sales. Our ideal advisor is a fast learner who will dedicate a significant amount of time building and growing their client base and business.
On The Road Travel, LLC not a multi-level marketing company or a home party business. We are accredited by IATAN (International Airlines Travel Agent Network) and are registered sellers of travel in several states.
What is the time commitment?
We have found that the more time you invest in your business, the more successful you are. Independent Contractors should devote several hours a week to marketing and developing a strong client base. We recommend spending a minimum of 20 hours per week to help grow your business.
In the beginning phase of onboarding, an Independent Contractor will need to spend 5-8 hours completing the required online training and testing offered by Disney Destinations and Universal Resorts. In addition, 2-3 hours is spent with the owner of the company and/or other advisors as you become familiar with our processes and procedures. Additional trainings and conference calls are offered to encourage and motivate advisors.
Is there a significant financial commitment?
New team members are charged a fee to offset the costs involved in bringing on new advisors. After the initial onboarding fee, team members pay an annual fee to cover email and client management software. Independent Contractors (IC) should have a computer (desktop or laptop) and a phone (mobile or landline) dedicated to the business. A secure, high-speed internet connection will be needed to connect and book with vendors.
How do I get paid?
Independent Contractors earn a commission that is paid by vendors to the agency once the client travels. The commission split between the IC and the agency is determined by the annual revenue generated by the advisor. The agency pays out commissions monthly and at the end of the year, each IC will get a 1099 for tax purposes. Please note that our advisors are NOT employees, but Independent Contractors.
It takes time to build relationships with clients and then for them to travel. It is not uncommon for it to take six to nine months or more for a new IC to receive their first commission payment.
Do I get discounted travel?
There may be opportunities for discounted travel once the IC has reached a certain level of revenue generation. One of the biggest misconceptions about the travel industry is that professionals get free travel. That is sometimes the case for individuals who are doing a very high volume of business. Most of the time when an IC travels, we are doing it because we love to visit destinations and we are traveling at our own expense.
