Away from the hustle and bustle of Walt Disney World theme parks is a family style dining experience nestled on 750 wooded acres. This pioneer-themed eatery has a cozy and rustic feel with plenty of unique decorations throughout the restaurant. Located in Pioneer Hall at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, this restaurant specializes in country style cuisine with a comfortable atmosphere for all Walt Disney World guests.
You can start your day off with a hearty breakfast served family-style with a selection that includes smoked brisket and eggs, Mickey Waffles, cheesy potato casserole, berry-granola yogurt parfaits, and plenty of pastries! Dinner is also served family-style and is full of country flavor! Guests can start out with skillet cornbread with honey butter. The meal is served on a smokehouse skillet that includes pecan-smoked brisket, smoked chicken, pulled pork, roasted potatoes, green beans, and buttered corn on the cob. There are plenty of cocktails to go along with your meal (available at an additional cost). Be sure to save room for dessert! There is a mason jar dessert trio consisting of banana pudding, chocolate mousse, and candied apple pie to finish the meal.
There are a few ways to get to Trail’s End, but you need to make sure you build in travel time for this dining destination. If you are using resort transportation, be sure to give yourself plenty of time – we recommend at least an hour. There is no direct route between your resort and Fort Wilderness. The quickest way will be to get yourself to Magic Kingdom via Disney bus or monorail and take the ferry or a bus over to Fort Wilderness. If you take the bus, you’ll still need to get on the internal transportation bus over to Pioneer Hall. If you have your own vehicle, it will certainly be faster, but we would recommend giving yourself about half an hour. You can park at the entrance to Fort Wilderness and then take the internal bus to Pioneer Hall. Rideshare or taxi is also an option.
Breakfast is offered daily from 7:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Dinner is offered daily from 4:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Trail’s End is family-friendly and theme park attire is always welcomed. The restaurant participates in the Disney Dining Plan and requires 1 table-service credit. (As a reminder, Disney currently is not offering Dining Plans). If you are paying out of pocket, you can expect to spend $20 per person for breakfast and $30 per person for dinner.
My family has dined at Trail’s End a few times over the years. It is a delicious and filling dining experience after a full day of visiting Disney World. We enjoy the opportunity to dine at a resort restaurant with delicious food, unique atmosphere, and a friendly waitstaff. We also treasure the opportunity to step away from the theme park restaurants and reflect on a fun day at the parks!
